One of the most popular and prestigious areas in Antalya is the Liman neighborhood in the Konyaaltı district. In Turkish, "Liman" means "port, harbor for ships."
To the east, Liman starts at the mouth of the Boğaçay River, where it borders the Gürsu neighborhood, and stretches along the Mediterranean coast westward to the port at the Sarısu district boundary. From the sea, Liman extends approximately 1 km inland to the Hurma district border.
Atatürk Boulevard, the main transportation artery of the city, divides the neighborhood into two parts. The first part is close to the sea, featuring quieter and calmer quarters with abundant greenery, hotels, and pensions, as well as small residential complexes and elite complexes on the beachfront. The second part, further from the sea, is noisier, more bustling, and densely populated. Here you will find shops and supermarkets, offices, schools, pharmacies, banks, and all other urban infrastructure necessary for modern active living. This part of the neighborhood features both large residential complexes and those with smaller territories.
The population of the neighborhood is international. This is why citizens from any country in the world feel at home here. Liman is home to both local Antalya Turks and Turks from Istanbul and Ankara who have retired and decided to live in this beautiful, elite area. Among the foreigners living here permanently, the largest group consists of citizens from CIS countries, mainly Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Among Europeans, Germans, Dutch, English, Norwegians, Swedes, and Danes are most common. Americans, Brazilians, and representatives from Arab countries also reside in Liman.
Liman hosts both large chain supermarkets (Migros, Carrefour, Macro Center, Çalarsoy) and smaller chain grocery stores (Bim, Şok, A-101). Additionally, each quarter has at least one store (market) with essential food products. Many markets offer home delivery. In any chain store, not only food products are available but also many other necessities for daily life: personal hygiene products, cosmetics, household chemicals, and more. Stationery stores are located near the market and the clinic. Liman also has several butcher shops, stores selling nuts, spices, and Turkish sweets, a seafood shop, and a natural dairy products store near the Porto Bello hotel where you can buy fresh sour cream and cottage cheese. At Bellona store, you will find a wide selection of quality modern furniture. Small clothing boutiques, pet stores, flower shops, and stores with home goods are all within walking distance in Liman.
